BRUCE BENT
Creator Of The World's First Money Market Mutual Fund
One of the most admired and influential business leaders in the country, BruceBent is founder and Chairman of the New York-based financial services company, The Reserve. In 1970, Bruce Bent created the world's first money market mutual fund which pioneered an industry that now exceeds $2 trillion. This invention is considered one of the most significant in the history of finance and is credited as the major catalyst for the overall acceptance and growth of mutual funds around the world. Today, The Reserve oversees $40 billion in various cash management products which have been awarded several significant patents with more pending.
Bruce Bent is an exceptional speaker on topics ranging from finance to entrepreneurship to current events. Drawing from his remarkable experiences in life and business, Bruce Bent teaches audiences how to succeed and inspires them to pursue greatness. In September 2005 Bruce Bent was accepted into the Financial Planning Hall of Fame along with such other luminaries as Alan Greenspan, Warren Buffett and Paul Volcker. He is also one of only eight innovators inducted into Money magazine's Hall of Fame and is chronicled in the American Museum of Finance, an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.

The son of a post office employee and cafeteria worker, Bruce Bent and his four siblings learned early on about responsibility and contribution. Beginning to work at age 9, and eventually working full-time by age 14, these formative years in Bruce Bent's career laid the foundation for a lifetime of achievement and social involvement. Following service in the Marine Corps, Bruce Bent received a degree in Economics from St. John's University and took his MBA course work in Corporate Finance at NYU. Bruce Bentcurrently resides in New York with his wife of 42 years.
