MOIRA GUNN
The Grand Dame of Tech Talk
Labeled the "Grand Dame of Tech Talk" by Wired Magazine, Dr. Moira Gunn is best known as the host of Public Radio's TechNation: Americans & Technology, as well as a weekly columnist on Knight-Ridder's SiliconValley.com.
TechNation's in-depth interviews enable Dr. Gunn to speak with the innovators who drive technology today, as well as everyday people who must cope in our new high-tech world. Popular business guests range from Amazon.com's Jeff Bezos and Yahoo's Jerry Yang and David Filo, to Intel's Andy Grove, Virgin's Richard Branson and "Chainsaw" Al Dunlap.
But the technology stories of today go well beyond the "dot.com" craze and high-tech economics. From Senator John McCain to Dilbert cartoonist, Scott Adams, from Rosalynn Carter to Sir Francis Crick, from Doris Kearns Goodwin to Stephen Jay Gould, from Alvin Toffler to Ralph Nader, everyone plays an essential part.

A former NASA scientist and engineer, Dr. Gunn is no stranger to technology. She has served as a member of the Awards Selection Committee for the Space Technology Hall of Fame, and currently is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Tech Museum of Innovation. With a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, she holds degrees in Computer Science, as well as a technical patent in Human Nutrition.
Dr. Gunn is a frequent guest on CNN and Silicon Spin, as well as appearing on local San Francisco Bay Area venues, including KQED-TV. She is regularly asked to speak on the Impact of Cyberspace on Society, on the Economic Opportunities of the Internet, and on her experience as a Woman in Science and Technology.
