FUTURIST SPEAKERS

The thrill and appeal of any lasting science fiction film is chance to dream about the technological possibilities that the future holds. The same thrill is at the heart of the work of a special kind of social visionary that we call a futurist. Barberusa.com is proud to host a variety of futurist speakers in our roster of available keynote speakers, each of whom will share exciting and optimistic visions about what the future may bring for the world.

The roots of futurists lie somewhat in the futurist art movement of the early 20th century, which looked at new innovations in technology, such as the camera, the automobile and the modern city, for inspiration. The futurist art movement’s association with technological innovation was furthered by writers like Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, both of whom created many works of fiction that explored various technological possibilities and their implications.

As technology continued to become more powerful throughout the past century, specialty thinkers and scholars started to ponder the implications of the rapid expansion of man’s technology, leading to a scholastic tradition that is perhaps most popularly embodied today by technological innovator, Ray Kurzweil. Kurzweil has predicted that the rate of technological change is not a static increase, but rather exponential, with each technological innovation leading to another in such a way that our knowledge builds upon itself.

Further still, it is important for us all to consider the environmental concerns associated with technological change. Certainly we are becoming more and more aware every day that our technology has an effect on the environment around us, a consequence that requires our sensitivity to plant and wild life, the atmosphere, the soil, the water and all of the other elements of the world in which we live.

In today’s workplace, futurists have much to offer in the way of inspiration and preparation for employees. Look to Barberusa.com in order to find futurists who are enthusiastic about the opportunity to share their work’s meaning and environmental safety with the audience members of your next business symposium, corporate meeting or educational event. Our entertaining and qualified speakers will help your audience peer into the crystal ball of technological change and derive exciting and fresh concepts about how best to utilize that change.

Browse through the list of speakers below to find futurists such as the charismatic Ed Barlow, president of Creating the Future, Inc., an organization that spots technological and sociological trends in the world that seem to indicate where we are heading. Your audience will also be pleased by the takes Gerald Celente has on the future, combining the knowledge and philosophy he’s garnished by studying martial arts into his visions. Author of Worth Remembering: The Future Value of Old Ideas David Zach will similarly combine thinking from a variety of disciplines to offer your audience insightful predictions about the future development of our country.
