CLEMENT BEZOLD
Founder of the Institute for Alternative Futures
Clement Bezold is Chairman of the Board and Founder of the Institute for Alternative Futures (IAF) and it's for-profit subsidiary, Alternative Futures Associates (AFA). Dr. Clement Bezold established IAF in 1977 to encourage "Anticipatory Democracy." In 1982, he started AFA to assist corporations in their strategic planning. Trained as a political scientist, Clement Bezold has been a major developer of foresight techniques - applying futures research and strategic planning methods in both the public and private sectors. As a consultant, Dr. Clement Bezold has worked with a large variety of successful and growing corporations. He has designed numerous workshops and projects to study future environments for corporations, and he has also consulted on strategic processes for new product development.
Clement Bezold is a frequent speaker on the future for voluntary organizations, corporations, and health care and education groups. Clement Bezold has lectured to several trade associations including the American Association of Retired Persons; the United Cerebral Palsy Association; United Way of America; the National Conference of State Legislatures; the Hawaii, Connecticut, and Florida state legislatures; the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce; and Governors or their staffs in California, Colorado, and North Carolina. In his workshops Clement Bezold often uses an alternative futures format that allows the audience to "invent" their community or organization in the year 2025.
