BOB LEVEY
Washington Post Columnist
Since 1981, Bob Levey has been a columnist for the Washington Post. In his column, "Bob Levey's Washington," he looks at the city he lives in and loves, and the people who make up its neighborhoods. He has been awarded a number of honors, including being named Washingtonian of the Year by Washingtonian Magazine, and being named one of the top columnists in the United States by The Washington Journalism Review.
A native New Yorker, and a one time resident of Chicago, Levey covered presidential politics, local news, Congress, sports and features as a reporter at the Post before becoming a local legend.
Bob Levey also hosts a talk show on Newschannel 8, and has worked for six radio stations and several television stations as a commentator. In 1996, he was named one of the most important talk show hosts in America by Talkers Magazine. He also hosts "Bob Levey Live" on the Washington Post's website and has co authored, with his wife Jane Freundel, Washington Album: A Pictorial History of the Nation's Capital.
Bob Levey is the father of two teenaged children. He is also a semi professional folk singer, a union president and a regional champion tournament bridge player. He was born and raised in New York City, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with special honors in English from the University of Chicago.
