Reveals The DNA Of The World's Most Successful Business Leaders
Reveals The DNA Of The World's Most Successful Business Leaders
What Uncommon Leaders Do Differently!
Based on Barry "The Maverick" Wishner's Pioneering Interviews of 350 Fortune 500 CEOs, and over 2000 Business Leaders, News Making Entrepreneurs and Ground Breaking Mavericks.
Barry Wishner has served as an adviser to business leaders since 1993 when he began his personal, in-depth interviews with more than 350 Fortune 500 CEOs and another 2000 high-powered business leaders, news-making entrepreneurs, and ground breaking mavericks and in the process Barry Wishner has identified The DNA Of The World's Most Admired Leaders and How They Get To The Top And Stay There.
Barry Wishner's ongoing research studies include: How Remarkable CEOs Use Business Execution As The Competitive Edge; How America's Most Talented Presidents and CEOs Use Uncommon Leadership To Stay On Top; Study of Executive Assistants to Fortune 500 CEOs; and a Global CEO Study of Timeless Leadership Styles.
Barry Wishner has been a maverick in the business world for over 30 years, a cutting edge entrepreneur who likes nothing better than creating and running unique companies. After working for large organizations (Saga and Marriott) he decided to pursue the American Dream and started his own business, ProFormance, a management consulting firm with over $50 million in revenues. Barry Wishner's company owned and operated a variety of businesses including management consulting for the health care industry, an innovative and award-winning restaurant in Santa Monica, California and designing, building and operating retirement communities in California and Nevada.
From Brooklyn to the Boardroom, Barry Wishner's career has been a rags-to-riches story. Growing up in humble circumstances, he adopted "Street Smarts" to survive and to fight for what he wanted. Being a maverick came naturally and B.S., "Brooklyn Smarts" have become his life lessons: quitting is easy, living with the quitting is the hard part; give it your best shot; take risks and laugh at failure. Barry Wishner's belief that life is a do-over (just because you fail once doesn't mean you don't get a second chance) has given him the curiosity and courage to question everything.
Barry Wishner obtained scholarships to Pratt Institute and then graduate school at CCNY (alma mater of Intel CEO Andy Grove and Colin Powell). After college he joined the Air Force as a Captain where he was a hospital administrator under the Surgeon General. Barry Wishner has been an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University (where he lectured on High Performance Leadership), City College of San Francisco's Business School, and Canada College Management School.
A civic leader who supports his community, Barry Wishner donates his time and energy by serving as a Consultant to the American Heart Association, and board member for the Santa Clara Methodist Retirement Foundation, Jewish Welfare Federation, the Japanese Federation, and the Elks.
Barry Wishner's fun and entertaining speaking style comes from his early childhood performances on NBC doing juggling and magic with his father, the original "Magic Clown," and Shari Lewis & Lamb Chop.
Barry Wishner has been called the down-to-earth business speaker who takes complex ideas and distills them into everyday language. From the hundreds of engagements with thousands of business people (senior executives, managers, top producers and entrepreneurs), audiences have praised him with quotes like "Barry has the passion of Tom Peters (In Search Of Excellence) and the content of Jim Collins (Good To Great)."

BARRY WISHNER'S MOST POPULAR PROGRAMS...
Be Bold Or Be Bait
As we move from one unpredictable state to another, we realize that no business strategy or formula lasts forever. You have to be bold enough to take risks, be confident about your plan, act courageously and never give up on your dream. When you stand out in the marketplace, and drive your business faster and harder to new heights you leave your competition sitting in their tracks. The opposite is also true. In business today, if you flounder around when dealing with the sharks you'll end up being their bait.
Barry Wishner's legendary interviews of over 2000 business leaders, entrepreneurs and top producers reveals for the first time the real stories, not theories, on how they boldly beat their competition and stay on top of their game.
You Can't Talk Your Way To The Finish Line
Success Is In The Doing! The best ideas you've ever had are not worth the paper they're written on if you don't achieve the results you're looking for. The fact is 95% of people in business say the right thing, only 5% do anything with it. Plans and strategies don't accomplish anything, and theories of management don't much matter, they succeed or fail because of the people who make them happen. No matter how brilliant the strategy, the saying of the words is not substitute for the doing of the deeds.
Successful leaders, entrepreneurs and top performers know that you can't talk your way to the finish line. Barry reveals how they avoid DITWLY (Did It That Way Last Year), practice organized abandonment, put everything they're currently doing on trial, and ask "Is what I am doing necessary for continued success?" This program is guaranteed to leave you with a rekindled sense of adventure and the urgency to overcome inertia and achieve remarkable results.
Execute For Growth
Business as usual is not an option! Success is focusing on what's worth doing vs. what's doable. The question is no longer, "Is change good?" "Should I change?" or "How do I cope with change?" The real question is "How do I execute change?" Execution Matters and it's the life blood of any organization. Planning the strategy is easy - making it happen is tough. 70% of all plans fail for one simple reason - they were not executed well. Strategies without implementation are nothing more than a mirage, words on paper, hallucinations and hot air!
When you execute for growth, things get done, you close more sales and make more money! Barry's behind the scenes interviews of high-powered business leaders, news making entrepreneurs and ground breaking mavericks provide a cross-industry perspective into how they make things happen. Discover how leaders create an environment where people are excited about change and embrace it, not fear it.
On Top And Still Climbing
Becoming #1 in Business is easier than staying #1. It's hard work staying the best in uncertain times! Hear the "story behind the story" on how great leaders Get To The Top And Stay There year after year. Discover how America's most admired Leaders continuously innovate to avoid Psychoschlerosis -- hardening of the imagination! Like NASCAR Champions, great leaders focus on the next curve, not the last. It's no longer good enough to run with the pack; you have to be out front. Slow and steady doesn't win the race. Barry's interviews of over 350 Fortune 500 CEOs and over 2000 business executives reveal for the first time their behind-the-scene secrets for continuing to stay on top.
Curiosity Thrilled The Cat
The future belongs to those who see it differently! Companies today are traveling in uncharted territory for which no maps exist. In a "World of Sameness," how will you and your company deal with the marketplace the way it is and not the way you wish it was -- so you can be the only company in the world that can do what you do? You either differentiate yourself or get left behind and go the way of the dinosaur.
Companies that get ahead will be those who allow their employees to continuously experiment, and take risks. Barry will leave your audience revitalized and challenged to rethink business assumptions and practices with thought provoking questions such as: "If you were starting out in business, knowing what you now know, what would you do differently?"
